Board General Information

The Board of Education is the official governing body of District #709 Schools.  Members of the Board of Education make decisions on school policy, budget, curriculum and other governing issues.  There are seven members of District #709 Board of Education, which are elected at large, with at least two from the unincorporated area of the Morton-Groveland communities.  We meet on the 1st Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at the Morton Education and Administration Center, 1050 S. Fourth Ave. We also have meetings, usually every 3rd Tuesday, at the different schools. Those meetings start at 7 p.m.  The meeting location is posted at the District Office. A complete schedule of meeting dates and locations can be accessed online at Board of Education -- Meeting Dates.  The public is encouraged to attend Board meetings.
