Morton CUSD 709 is pleased to be the recipient of federal funding through Title I and Title II programming. Title 1 funding is used to support and enhance math instruction at Grundy and Jefferson through the use of staff members, materials, supplies and equipment. Title II funding this year (12-13) is used to support an overflow classroom teacher at Lincoln Elementary (this funding can vary from year to year depending upon need and enrollment.) Further questions can be directed to Superintendent Lindsey Hall.

The Mission of Morton Community Unit School District 709 is to serve the Groveland-Morton community by stimulating a desire for life-long learning, graduating productive individuals, and challenging all to achieve their highest potentials as active participants and leaders in a dynamic, global society.

First and foremost, Morton Community Unit School District 709 exists to support educational excellence and opportunities so that all students can achieve to their highest potential in school, at work, and in life.  Technology, in its various forms, shall be used as an instructional tool and resource to encourage engaged learning.  This will, in turn, result in improved applications and capacities for life-long learning, information gathering, research techniques, and critical thinking and problem solving skills.  In addition to service to our students, we recognize the need to assist our staff, parents, community members, and business partners in adapting and adjusting to the challenges of our ever-changing technological world.

In order to successfully integrate technology into our educational system, District 709 will provide the following:
  - Communication technology equipment and support for all communication tools will be enhanced and maximized to guarantee the best educational experience for all stakeholders.
  - Instructional technology will be implemented throughout the district using research-based practices and the finest equipment.  Support will be provided to insure that instructional technology is effectively meeting the individual needs of our students.
  - Information technology will be implemented to provide the most efficient and effective access to district data for all stakeholders.

Morton Community Unit School District 709 can achieve this vision by understanding best practices, using relevant data for assessment and purposefully striving to infuse the most effective technology integration into the educational program for the benefit of all students.
