- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Accolades During the school year, the district Accolades program recognizes and thanks individuals who make our district outstanding. Each month a different group is identified for recognition. Throughout May, please submit Accolades recognizing the retirees, administrators and substitutes of District 709. Comments will appear the following month. Read April comments recognizing volunteers and parents.

 AR BookFinder offers Quick Search and Advanced Search. The Advanced Search allows you to search based on interest level, book level, topics, subtopics, fiction and nonfiction, and language. From the Advanced Search, click on "Interest Level" (lower grades K-3, middle grades 4-8, or upper grades 9-12). Click on "2000 point scale." Enter your student's Lexile range reported on the MAP Student Progress Report. Click "Go." You will receive a customized reading list of AR books.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - The Illinois Learning & Technology Purchasing Program (ILTPP) has established a Microsoft purchasing program for all Illinois K-12 teachers, staff, and students. These are licenses that students, faculty, and staff buy on their own and will personally own forever. In the past this group would have to pay $499 for Office Professional in local stores. Through this purchasing program, the same product costs less than $90. Parents and staff can literally save hundreds of dollars and obtain lifelong learning tools. Local Homeless Education Liaison Toolkit
Local liaisons using this resource will improve schools’ effectiveness in working with homeless children and youth through identification, provision of appropriate services, and increased awareness and sensitivity among school personnel working with homeless students.

School Medication Authorization
All medications to be administered during school hours are to be kept in the office in the original container. A medication authorization form, which details the administration of the medications, must be signed by a parent. The required form is filed in the office. An asthma inhaler, which can be kept in a student's or teacher's possession, is the only exception, as indicated by the required medication authorization.

Elementary Limited Excuse Absence
A limited excused absence refers to a special category of absences that are limited in number and require approval by the principal. Examples of limited excused absences include: • Pre-approved vacations with parents • Religious trips/retreats • Court appearances

MJHS Limited Excuse Absence
Limited Excuse Absence should be made one week in advance. After this form is returned and then approved, the student will get assignment sheets to be filled out by each of his teachers. Advance assignments will be given when possible.

MJHS Insurance Waiver
Statement certifies that student has adequate insurance coverage without school insurance.

MHS College Appointment Request
The college appointment form should be filled out prior to students taking a day to visit a college.

MHS Limited Excuse Absence
Complete the MHS Limited Excused Absence form and return to the Office of Students Services two days prior to planned absences. Teachers have the prerogative to require students to turn in assignments before leaving.

MHS Parent Teacher Conference Request
First semester parent-teacher conferences are scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 1, and Friday, Nov. 2. To schedule a conference, please fill out the conference request page and return it to Barb Aberle in the Morton High School main office starting Sept. 24 and continuing through Friday, Oct. 26. Requests may be dropped off or mailed to Morton High School, 350 N. Illinois Ave., Morton, IL 61550.

MHS Withdrawl
Complete the MHS Withdrawl Form when withdrawing from the high school.

District K-12 Registration
A district registration form should be completed for all new students entering the district. Form details student, family and previous school information.

Home Language Survey
The State Board of Education requires that school districts administer a "Home Language Survey" to each student entering the District's schools for the purpose of identifying students of non-English background.

MHS Record Release
The MHS Record Release grants permission to release MHS records or secure records from another school or agency.
